THE FOUNDER
Every brand starts with a story, so here is mine.
I am Vaida, the founder of HairByVaida. I started my career in the hair industry over 20 years ago, with no experience (but a lot of determination), as a 22 year old apprentice in a London salon. I worked very hard. Spending all my days off practising on models, preparing questions for senior stylists, and grabbing every opportunity I could. My dedication, focus and commitment paid off eventually, and I was progressed to junior stylist after just one year.
After working my way up from an apprentice, I discovered my true passion in hair, and began specialising in colour and extensions.
Determined to be the best hairstylist out there - I am constantly investing in education and training - attending masterclasses, training days, and even hosting well-known educators at my Essex-based salon.
I am most known for premium blonding, perfect balayages, lived-in blondes, root stretches and creating client's dream hair without compromising the health or condition.
Our Mission
I believe hair is so much more than just a colour or cut - it is confidence, identity and self-expression. I understand hair and colour - how the two work together - so I can deliver healthy blondes, without over-processing and causing damage to the natural hair. The transformation is more than just the hair itself, but I love seeing the smiles on clients faces when they see their finished look and leave the salon chair. My mission is to create a luxury client experience, and to deliver healthy and bespoke blondes, leaving clients with a smile, always.
I truly understand what it feels like to start from nothing and how challenging being an apprentice in the hair industry can be. When looking back on my apprentice years, it made me realise that being a skilled hairstylist goes far beyond what is taught in colleges, making adapting to salon-life so overwhelming and disheartening. Even 20 years later, I can remember so vividly how I felt during this time - and that is why I am so passionate about mentorship and education. I want to make young and new hair stylists feel less overwhelmed and disheartened, providing them with the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to thrive in the salon. My mission is to help make apprentices and newly qualified stylists feel less overwhelmed, providing them with the skills and knowledge they need to enter the industry feeling confident, capable and unstoppable.
